15 Weeks: Stick With What Works

ATHLETE SUMMARY:

PERSONAL THOUGHTS:

This has been a fun week for me, but also very exhausting. Renee got 3rd at Jr USAs and we made the decision to travel straight to Pittsburgh for North Americans. Main critique is that Renee’s upper body is too muscular, but we think this was more so posing related. So, we tweaked the posing, hit North Americans and Renee got 1st place and is now one of the few first Wellness IFBB Pros. Super proud husband/coach moment to share!

For the most part Prep has been on changed but being at these shows with client’s sleep took the biggest hit. I was getting up at 5-6am with competitors and long days at shows as well. This also kept my step count really high, so. I could end up dropping more weight than intended if not monitoring all variables. I watch the scale and make the call if I should do cardio or not, based on how active I am with steps, this is just one way I autoregulate my energy expenditure.

DIET FEEDBACK:

Nailed the diet traveling, Renee and I had all food packed. We had to cook a little bit in Pittsburgh, but not much was needed. I did do two cheat meals on the trip, which was celebrating post show with Renee. Body weight barely moved after cheat meals just from activity being up so high.

TRAINING FEEDBACK:

Traveling to new gyms I didn’t have my standard equipment to compare to. Overall recovery was very good, and I upheld really good performance. Pumps were really high and just focused on execution and taking sets all out.
