PERSONAL THOUGHTS:
This started off a great peak and really went south on me the night prior to the show. I had been increasing food all week and nailing a really great look after 2 meals and about ¾ gallon of water. You can see above my fasted pics at 206lbs and then around 210lbs after the meals and how full and hard I look.
So, my plan was to pretty much run that same diet into prejudging, but that got all messed up right after I weighed in. After weigh in I ate one meal and it seemed to sit heavy. I came back to the hotel and had my 5th meal and that felt like stacking food up to my throat. I was starting to feel more bloated and food was not digesting. All week I had been experience what I thought were allergy symptoms as well, sinus pressure, chest congestion, etc. So going to bed I was getting really hot and I couldn’t sleep at all. Woke up very early for Renee and food was still not digesting. I did not drop in weight overnight like usual, waking up at 210lbs. I looked hard though but felt pregnant.
I packed my food for the show but did not eat or drink anything, just the thought of food made me nauseated. I laid on the hotel floor a while and managed to get down some cream of rice and start putting down water. The fatigue was kicking in really high which I thought was from my 4 hours of sleep, but all movements were exhausting. At this point I thought I was going to pull out of the show. I was going to go on stage feeling like this and not able to control my abdomen.
Hours go by and they are pushing the show back and running slow. I start to feel better and manage to eat two 56g carb Rice Crispy Treats and at this point I had about ½ gallon of water. They called us to line up and actually felt better by then. You can see the pics I took above about an hour before getting on stage. I was 213lbs much fuller, not quite as hard as I was in Indy, but that was the idea.
Prejudge took place and felt normal after that. I got more fluids in and food and brought a similar look to finals. The extra fullness though was not enough to beat out Kerrith or Ahmed you had really muscular upper bodies, I ended up forth.
Post show Renee came down with a high fever and the fatigue set in really bad. We came back home and got tested for covid and come to find out we were positive. I have no idea how we got on stage and pulled that off with having covid. We really thought it was allergies all week until we got wrecked on show day. I have been fine since, but Renee is still very low energy but recovering and still planning on going to the O.
THOUGHTS ON PLACINGS
The placing was fair. Tyler Manion came up to me and said he preferred me really hard over fuller. However, Steve had some to keep coming in fuller and especially in my chest. Milos also critiqued and said to improve my ab development. I really get beat in my front shots. I can come peeled but just need more size main to chest, then delts, and lastly triceps. My legs are great and so are biceps. Back can never be big enough and I would like to see more trap development to thicken up my rear lat spread. So, I will lay out a training plan accordingly.
MOVING FORWARD
Really debating right now to push forward and go the Olympia especially with Renee competing or sit out and start offseason to grow and then come back in 2022 being undeniable. My weight low at Indy peeled out is 204lbs, I could add 8lbs of stage weight and come in that hard it would be a crazy look. Competing at the Olympia this year might push me into taking a whole year off to do so.
